Window treatments
A window determines how daylight enters a room. Made-to-measure window treatments filter that light, give privacy where it is needed and sit calmly against the walls and the frame around them.
Principles
Window treatments are the part of an interior that is moved most often. They have to let light through by day without exposing the room, and close in the evening without becoming heavy.
That is why we look at the window itself first: its size, the way it opens, its orientation to the sun and how the room behind it is used. Only then do we choose the fabric and the operation.
The fabric determines how much daylight comes in and how soft it becomes.
Blocking the view in from outside without losing the view out.
Every window is measured individually, so that the treatment fits exactly in or on the frame.
Handle, cord, chain or motor: how often and by whom the blind is operated determines the choice.
The colour and texture of the fabric are matched to the walls and the floor.
Inside the reveal or on the frame, depending on the window and the desired look.
Window treatments
We supply made-to-measure curtains, from sheers to black-out, and the full range of Erfal, a German manufacturer of made-to-measure window treatments, insect screens and curtain rails. Shading for conservatories and for outdoors is part of it too.

Fabric
A fabric that looks neutral on a sample takes on the colour of the light falling through it. Facing north a warm tone becomes calmer; facing south a light fabric can turn almost white.
That is why we judge fabrics in the showroom both folded and against the light, and when in doubt we take samples to the window where they will hang.
