Curtains
A curtain softens a window. It falls in folds, moves with the light and dampens sound in a room. Made to measure, it runs from ceiling to floor, exactly as wide as the window asks.
Overview
Sheers, drapes and black-out curtains
A sheer or voile is a translucent fabric that softens the light by day and limits the view in, without taking away the view. A drape in linen, velvet or another heavy fabric closes the room off in the evening and adds warmth. They often hang together, on a double track.
For a bedroom the drape can be black-out, in a fabric that stops the light completely. A track close to or recessed in the ceiling limits the gaps of light at the top.
The pleat decides how a curtain falls. With a wave pleat the fabric hangs in even waves, open and closed; a classic pleat is fuller. Curtains are operated by hand or electrically. We choose the fabrics together in the showroom, against the light.
