Pleated blinds

A pleated blind is a fabric set in crisp folds that slides across the window between two rails. Folded up it takes almost no space; extended, it filters daylight into an even, soft light.

Overview

Pleated and honeycomb blinds, made to measure for every window

Because the fabric hangs between a top and a bottom rail, a pleated blind can be moved down from the top and up from the bottom. The upper part of the window stays open to the light, while the lower part blocks the view in from outside.

A honeycomb blind consists of two layers of fabric joined at the folds. Between them an insulating layer of air forms: in summer the heat stays out, in winter it stays in. Because the fabric has no holes for the cords, a honeycomb blind also dims the light better.

Pleated blinds are available for ordinary windows, for roof windows and for unusual shapes such as triangles and arches, and with coated fabrics for the bathroom too. On windows that open, such as tilt-and-turn windows, the blind is placed so that the window keeps working.
