Roller blinds
A roller blind is a fabric rolled onto a tube that can stay at any height. It is the simplest form of window treatment: almost invisible when rolled up, a calm plane in front of the window when rolled down.
Overview
Roller, double roller and black-out blinds
The fabric decides what a roller blind does: light-filtering for a living room, room-darkening for a bedroom, or printed with an image of your own. Large windows and glass façades can be covered with a single fabric as well.
A double roller blind has a fabric with alternating opaque and sheer stripes that runs over the window in two layers. Moving the fabric a little lets the stripes fall over or beside each other, switching between view and privacy in a single movement.
For a room that has to be truly dark, a black-out fabric runs in side channels along the frame, so that no light gets past the edges either.
