About this project
Decorative plaster with visible trowel work in the living area, and textile wallcoverings in the bedrooms for a warmer acoustic.
In this house we deliberately worked with two registers. The living area has a decorative plaster finish in which the trowel work remains visible; the surface therefore reads as something made rather than a painted wall.
The bedrooms have textile wallcoverings. Besides the tactility, this affects the acoustics: the rooms sound less reverberant, which gives a pleasant contrast with the hard floor finishes elsewhere in the house.
The transitions between the two finishes are resolved with a recessed profile, so that no visible sealant or transition joint comes into view.
