Wall with decorative plaster and visible trowel work

Walls

Decorative plaster

With decorative plaster, the hand of the craftsman remains visible. The movement of the trowel sets the rhythm of the surface, so the wall reads as a made surface.

Overview

Visible trowel work, made on the wall

Decorative plaster covers a range of techniques in which texture is deliberately built up: from a fine, even trowel pattern to a pronounced relief with a play of shadow.

The choice depends on the room. In a space with a lot of raking light, even a restrained texture comes forward strongly; in a room with diffuse light, more relief is needed to achieve the same effect.

Every surface is finished in one pass to avoid visible joins. That also shapes the schedule and the order of work on site.
