Wall with a metallic finish in evening light

Walls

Metallic wall finish

A metallic finish places pigment in the top layer that follows the direction of the light. The surface therefore changes with the viewer's position and with the time of day.

Overview

Pigment that responds to the direction of the light

The effect comes from the orientation of the pigment particles during application. The direction of the trowel work determines how the light is returned; that is why it is agreed in advance for each wall surface.

The finish is used with restraint, usually on one or two surfaces per room. Combined with a matte finish on the other walls, the whole stays in balance.

Because the effect depends so much on lighting, the choice is preferably made in the showroom under different lighting conditions.
