Lime Plaster Marmorino
wall · satin · smooth
A polished lime finish with marble powder. Gives depth and a soft sheen that moves with the light.

Stairs
The tallest wall in the house is often the one around the staircase: the wall along the stairs and the stairwell up to the floor above. In decorative plaster that surface becomes a calm backdrop with light falling across it from above.
Overview
Lime plaster, decorative plaster or a mineral finish is continued over the stair wall, the walls of the stairwell and, on a closed staircase, its underside. The wall of the hall then runs up without a break.
On a staircase the wall is close: you walk past it and touch it. That is why we choose a finish that can take a knock, and match its colour to the treads.
The junction of wall and stair is where the difference lies. A clean line along the treads, or a shadow gap, lets staircase and wall each keep their own surface.
