Underfloor heating
Underfloor heating gives an even warmth across the whole floor, with no radiators in view. Because we also finish the floor above it, we plan the heating and the finish together.
Overview
Milled in or laid in a new screed, beneath the finish
In an existing home we mill grooves into the screed and lay the pipes in them. No new screed is added, so the floor barely rises and doors and stairs still fit. Any existing floor covering is removed first.
In a new build or a major renovation we lay the pipes on the subfloor and a new screed goes over them. The warmth is then spread evenly across the floor.
Before the finish goes on, the heating is brought up to temperature in steps following a start-up protocol, so that the screed is dry and stable. Then comes the poured floor, the microcement or another finish. We take care of the whole installation, including the manifold and the connection to the heat source.
